Picnic's mission is to provide our community with take-home meals, made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. We will offer to-go rotisserie chickens and porchetta, sausages and charcuterie, pasta, and a variety of seasonal side dishes to complete a delicious meal at home; or to take for a picnic!


Susannah Schnick

owner, head chef + butcher

Susannah is a sausage queen, badass butcher and mother of twins who has been part of the butchering community of the East Bay for years.  She has worked as a butcher and Salumist/salumi artisan under Chuck Traugott at the beloved Cafe Rouge restaurant in Berkeley and most recently at Clove and Hoof Restaurant and butchery in Oakland. Susannah brings her butchery talent and culinary creativity to the Picnic team as the Executive Chef.

Leslie Nishiyama

owner, chef + operations

Leslie is a passionate cook, food blogger, and mother of two. before joining picnic, she dreamed of creating her own food business while working in business administration for tech startups and labs at UC Berkeley. Dreams came true when she met susannah and together they started planning to make picnic a reality. Leslie brings business operations and home cooking skills to the picnic table.
